Miriam Zubieta

MIRIAM   ZUBIETA

Spanish soprano, winner of the “Canto Festival 2013” (Italy). Finalist of the 2014 Paris Opera Awards and of at the prestigious International Singing Competition “Francesc Viñas(2012 in Barcelona), where she also was awarded. She also received a special mention and the Audience Award at the 2nd Concorso Lirico Internazionale “Anita Cerquetti”.

She was born in Pamplona. She finished her Bachelor Degree with Honours in Singing at ESMuC (Higher School of Music of Catalonia) in Barcelona. She finished her Master Degree in Opera Studies in Vienna (at the “Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien”). She has taken part in several masterclasses given by A. Zedda, M. Bayo, T. Berganza, D. Gowland, R. Giménez, L. Roni, E. Halfvarson, M. Shirai, W. Zlateva, R. Levitt…

She has collaborated as guest soprano for Spanish TV (RTVE) several times.

 

In 2014 she made her debut at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad in Germany, receiving rave reviews. In September of the same year, she was admitted in the Centre di Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo del Palau les Arts Reina Sofia (Valencia), where she made Vagaus and Girl, concerts…

In september 2016, she was selected for the Thüringer Opernstudio, where she debuted Marie (Zar und Zimmermann of Lortzing in “Thüringer Schlossfestspiele Sonderhausen”), Tingeli (Der Bärbeiss. Herrlich miese Tage of Kassel en “Deutsches Nationaltheater und Staatskapelle Weimar”)…

 

She has represented the roles of Vagaus (Juditha Triumphans of Vivaldi), Susanna (Le Nozze di Fìgaro of Mozart), Despina (Così fan tutte of Mozart), Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail of Mozart), Norina (Don Pasquale of Donizetti), Gilda (Rigoletto of Verdi), Oscar (Un ballo in maschera of Verdi), Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann of Offenbach), Christel (Der Vogehändler of Zeller), Sor Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites of Poulenc F.), Lady Madeleine Astor (Der Untergang der Titanic – Siebert), Girl (Café Kafka of Coll)… She sang as soloist Messiah (Händel), Symphony Nr. 9 (Beethoven), Missa in C minor (Mozart), Réquiem (Mozart), Missa No. 2 in G Major (Schubert). Her performances have taken place in: Schlosstheater Schönbrunn and Theater Akzent (Vienna), Deutsches Nationaltheater und Staatskapelle Weimar), Teatro Arriaga (Bilbao), Baluarte and Teatro Gayarre (Pamplona), Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori (Barcelona), Auditorio de Sant Cugat, Teatro Gaztambide  (Tudela), Corea… with prominent conductors: A. Fogliani, L. Acocella, F. M. Sardelli, U. Theimer, G. Mancusi, J. Bernácer, J. Ferrer, C. Cuesta…
